On September 29th, 2022, Rock Island Rail's Gulfport Local, with GP15-1 1106, traverses over a repaired washout area on newly acquired Gulf & Ship Island Railroad trackage along Seaway Road in Gulfport, MS. This area, along with the wooden bridge over the Bayou Bernard waterway just down the tracks, were two obstacles that caused KCS to abandon service on the line, resulting in the Rock Island take over.
