Aberdeen, Carolina, and Western's former NS F9A/B set pause at the bridge over the Pee Dee River at the Tillery Dam. This beautiful train on the original Norfolk Southern's main line was carrying only a few passengers on it's run from Candor north to Star and westward to Charlotte. This was a convenient opportunity to qualify an engineer on this route, as well as drop the rear SD40-2 at Midland along the trip. Word has it that ACWR will soon begin rehab of the line and hopes to eventually run excursions through central North Carolina.
