Track Clearing. Webb Rail's former Northern Pacific Railway Budd built dome/coach 549 (WEBX 801045) and former Northern Pacific Railway Budd built Pullman dome/sleeper 313 (WEBX 801044) made the station stop at the 1998 built William F. Walsh Regional Transportation Center in Syracuse, New York while holding the markers on Train Amtrak 48 (Lake Shore Limited) on August 7, 2021. This station was built to replace the "temporary" East Syracuse facility that was in use from 1962, when the New York Central decided to stop using its passenger route and sell it to New York State to become the route of Interstate 690. The area on the parking lot side of the platform has been cleared as part of the project to allow for the installation of an additional track for passenger trains to use, as dwell time at Syracuse is a bit longer than other station becuase it is a crew change point for both conductors and engineers.
