The city of Fowler, located ten miles south of Fresno in California’s San Joaquin Valley, is a fairly typical agricultural area typical of so many in the Valley. This area has a large number of vineyards, but they are grown for raisins rather than wine, as evidenced by the warehouse that Southern Pacific SD40T-2 8504 and 8542 are passing on May 11, 1984.
