Remarks & Notes

A climb up a tall bluff at Trempealeau, Wisconsin, yields this view of the Mississippi River valley and Burlington Northern’s long causeway just east of Winona, Minnesota. On the morning of June 15, 1996, a long BN “Expediter” intermodal train 42 slices its way over the impressive route on the Wisconsin side of the river.
