Remarks & Notes
A full month after being pulled out of winter hibernation, the Green Mountain Railroad Alco RS-1 is still going strong in weekly freight duties for Vermont Rail System. The Alco was reactivated following a power shortage on the VRS and has been in service as the Bellows Falls Switcher, symbol DASW, Monday through Friday and weekend days as necessary. On December 28, 5 minutes of sunshine and a rare morning switching of GMRC Riverside Yard coincided to provide some pristine lighting on the 70-year-old veteran Also.
