The long road to Ridgway. Rio Grande Southern Locomotive #20 winds her way through Colorado's colorful high country, making the rather long and circuitous hike from Durango to Ridgway on a changeable fall day.

This re-creation of an RGS freight was staged on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad on the portion of the line between Toltec Gorge and Osier, at about Milepost 316.1. The RGS #20 is owned by the Colorado Railroad Museum and had been recently restored to service. She visited the C&TS from late August until early October of 2021 and appeared in this scene as part of a Lerro Photography Charter.
