Funky Looking Locomotives At Steamtown
Delaware Lackawanna sits tied down at Steamtown with a rainbow quartet of MLW and ALCO locomotives, all of which are in different paint schemes. The leader, MLW M630 #3007 is painted in a paint scheme reminiscent of the one seen on the Monongahela, second is ALCO C424 #4209, which is painted in a Wabash paint scheme, third is ALCO C425 #2457, which is the only locomotive in the consist sporting the regular Delaware Lackawanna paint, and finally in fourth place is ALCO C420 #414, which is painted in a Lehigh Valley paint scheme.
Don Colangelo, retired CMO (and sometimes piano player) at the DL Scranton shops cared for the many ALCOs, MLWs and a few EMDs that passed in and out of South Scranton and Von Storch shop doors.
Here is a look and many of those units.
