A Keith Ardinger photo in my dad collection. No location on the mound. My best guess. This is a train form the US Steel operation from Atlantic City, Wyoming. That has been interchanged to Union Pacific with a Fleet of a A, A, B, B, B, A set of SD24's. for the trip to Geneva Steel in Orem, Utah.
Coal and steel don't go bad. This album features long, slow, heavy freight trains; drag freights, slop freights, dead freights, etc. Trains with lots of power, and lots of different cargo slogging along behind.
