Mohawk Adirondack & Northern (MHWA) C425 No. 2456 is seen heading westbound at CP-239 on the CSX Mohawk Subdivision, meeting Amtrak Empire Service 284 just west of the signals. 284 is headed by GE P32AC-DM No. 713, which is painted in the Empire Service Phase III scheme. The Century is painted in the corporate scheme of Genesee Valey Transportation, which was inspired by an ALCO demonstrator paint scheme. This meet afforded a rare opportunity to see both modern and vintage motive power operating at mainline track speed.
*Note: Both trains are operating on the CSX Mohawk Subdivision under trackage rights agreements.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
