So much good stuff in this shot, where to begin? I’ll start with the commuter train. Well two actually. SDRX 923 is on the point of Sounder 1517 (maybe 1515), while midway back is train 1511, which had an engine failure in Kent. So, 923’s train was assigned the job of dragging both trains to Lakewood.
Meanwhile the elusive northbound Tacoma Rail Hill job, which went to Frederickson on Sunday, is making its way home. There is only one crossover, a double crossover at CP Portland Ave, that Tacoma Rail trains can use to traverse their tracks at Portland Ave to the Lakewood Sub and then to their Mountain Division. In what appears to be a good bit of dispatching, the southbound Sounder train was crossed over Main 2 to Main 1 at CP L Street and after clearing the control point, the Tacoma Rail train used Main 2 from L Street to Portland Ave and crossed over there to Tacoma Rail trackage.
Finally, down on the ground sits a Tacoma Link light rail streetcar, with Maintenance and Operations buildings behind.

just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
