The stopover in San Luis Obispo at the train station was not planned on our trip on Highway No. 1. We were all the more pleased to be able to watch the meeting of two passenger trains. Amtrak No. 17 is waiting with another locomotive for the return train, in the background you can see some UP locomotives. One even wears the color of the Southern Pacific. It is very likely that they serve as a helper for the uphill section that follows northwards.
