Remarks & Notes |
Proudly adorned with two American Flags just two days prior to the 19th Anniversary of 9/11, Fillmore & Western No. 100 and GP35 No. 3501 set to work pulling 20 empty tank cars into the town of Fillmore on their westbound journey to Santa Paula. It's an eerie morning in the Santa Clara River Valley as smoke from multiple wildfires burning across the state of California converge and delude the sunlight. Add in 5-10 mph wind gusts that are kicking up dust...taking photos of an F unit on the point of a revenue freight train went from fun to almost a challenge at times. All that said, upon the train's arrival to Santa Paula, the FWRY power will cut off and clear the main to allow the arriving UP power (and buffer car) hook onto the string of tanks to pull them the rest of the way down the Santa Paula Branch and south to Oxnard. |
