| The 0-8-0 T four cylinder compound cogwheel steamlocomotive HG 4/4 # 704 of the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke (DFB) is pulling train 133 from Realp to Oberwald along the Furkareuss through the gorge behind Realp. The locomotive with Winterthur cogwheel drive was built in 1923 by the SLM and delivered to the "Compagnie Génerale de Colonies Paris" for service on the Song Pha (former Krong Pha) – Da Lat line in Indochina, today Vietnam. From 1947, she was running for the Vietnamese state railway as VHX 40 # 304 til about 1975. In 1990 brought back to Switzerland and undergoing a large revision/rebuilding from 2006 to 2018 in Chur and Uzwil. Operational again on the Furka pass line since 2019. |
