Seaboard Coast Line U36B 1776 is seen during the Bicentennial shoot for Kalmbach Publishing at the BRC 87th St. Yard in Chicago July 1975. The 1776 was built in June 1971 and was the very first Bicentennial locomotive which got the ball rolling for many railroads in the US. When the idea for a R/W/B unit came about, SCL 1776 had already been delivered in the standard SCL black and yellow so SCL 1813 took the place of the original 1776 which was renumbered SCL 1803. The SCL was the primary purchaser of the U36B with 108 units and all rode on Blomberg trucks from EMD trade-ins. James Claflin photo from my Collection.
