Remarks & Notes |
One of the private cars Amtrak brought to Denver was WEBX 801044. This dome sleeper was built in July of 1954 by the Budd Company of Philadelphia, PA. It was one of seven identical cars built for the Northern Pacific. It was leased to Illinois Central between 1965 and 1967, and then transferred to Burlington Northern in 1970 and again to Amtrak in 1971. In January of 1993, the car was purchased by Inland Pacific Rail then sold to Webb Rail in 2018. It just underwent a complete restoration and looks brand new in its Northern Pacific paint scheme.
