A trio of Trona Railway SD40-2 variants pull hard on a 70 car empty coal train headed to the UP interchange at Searles. The water tower on the left is a relic of the steam era, used during a time when the SP Jawbone Branch saw a variety of steam engines from Mojave CA. Shortly, the engineer will throttle down and hand off the coal train to the UP, which will pull it the rest of the way down the branch to Mojave, CA.
