Two mechanical specialists perform maintenance on BB 13 at the Staunton yard locomotive shop. Buckingham Branch #13 was originally built as Milwaukee Road (MILW) GP40 #2031 in 1967. It was also operated by Soo Line (SOO) and Kansas City Southern (KCS).

The "BB" was founded in 1988 and ran its first train on March 6, 1989. The BB has grown from 17 miles of track and two employees to 275 miles and 75 employees, spanning over Virginia in three separate divisions.
