Department of Transportation U30C 001 was built by General Electric in June 1971. At one time, this locomotive wore a red and white scheme, and it spent years assigned to the United States’ Department of Transportation Testing Facility in Pueblo, Colorado. Upon retirement, it was donated to the Pueblo Railway Museum, where it was photographed on March 9, 2020.
