Remarks & Notes
Burlington Northern SD7 6008 resting on the dirt house tracks at Belknap Roundhouse in Superior September 1973. The 6008 was built as Great Northern 558 in May 1952 and wore two of the three GN paint schemes, having avoided Big Sky Blue. This SD7 toiled for the BN on it's home turf until being retired in September 1983. Purchased by Cargill in November 1983, this unit served the Litchfield, MN elevator for many years and is thankfully preserved at the Minnesota Transportation Museum in the Twin Cities. The simplified orange and green paint this unit wore for many years was applied right here in Superior in March 1966. Robert C. Anderson Photo from my collection.
