Remarks & Notes
The Plains of New Mexico - In addition to the many fantastic topographical features that New Mexico has to offer, there is also a lot of flat ground and rolling hills between Wagon Mound and Raton. Illuminated by sunshine with threatening skies behind, the eastbound Southwest Chief passes a rustic windmill on an open field.

The Southwest Chief is an under-appreciated train. The New Mexico scenery is like none other in the entire system.
