Remarks & Notes

After being withdrawn in 1970, Steam Incorporated bought and restored 1271 which returned to the rails in 1997. The heritage train is on the homeward run to Paekakariki depot from Masterton, one of just 2 or 3 special trains over the "mothballed" section to Pahiatua.
