Remarks & Notes |
"North Facing Geep at the Hartford Tunnel"
A northbound CTrail train with a north-facing engine emerges from the Hartford Railroad Tunnel on the Amtrak Springfield Line. The tunnel was built in 1871 by the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad as a stone arch bridge carrying US 44 (Main Street) and Albany Avenue over the Springfield Line. It originally handled 4 tracks but now handles a single track within the southern limits of "HART" Interlocking. |
