| The SNCF CC 72020 is waiting in the Delle station for the next passenger train coming over from Switzerland. Delle is the border station between France and Switzerland. The French diesel locomotive will then replace the electric locomotive from the SBB and bring the train to Belfort. The line has been out of service since 1992. The SNCF has announced plans to reopen the 22-km Belfort-Delle high –speed rail (HSR) line on December 9, 2018. The line connects the Rhine-Rhône HSR line at Belfort-Montbéliard TGV station in France to the rail network at Delémont and Biel/Bienne station in Switzerland. Reconstruction and electrification works began in September 2015 and are expected to be completed by mid-2018. |
