| The 5th of December 1989, the TGV Atlantique trainset #325 has set a new world speed record on rail at 482,4 km/h. A few days later, this TGV came to Basel SBB for an official visit of the French president François Mitterrand. The decoration on the nose of the TGV shows that this was a presidential train. I guess that today it would be impossible to approach the train to make a picture for security reasons. |
