My father and I photographed numerous VIA trains, but this was the only time we got a Tempo RS18. Just after 2 PM, CN 3154 has departed Windsor station with VIA #78, a Windsor-Toronto Tempo train at the George Street crossing. At left is CN S7 #8217, resting in-between switching activities at the Ford plant. VIA is new in 1978 and the train is in a mixture of VIA and CN paint. This train included a baggage car that is clearly painted in the VIA's Tempo paint scheme, but does not appear to be standard equipment for a Tempo train. I just reserved my HO-scale Tempo train yesterday, which didn't include a baggage car. In fact, I couldn't find another picture online of a Tempo train with a baggage car. Ted Steinbrenner Photo
