Might these coaches be the ones acquired from the Reading? Built by Budd, they equipped the Phila.-to- Jersey City "Crusader" via RDG and CNJ, starting in the late 1930s.

Thanks for the comment B&OSummerMan. No, those coaches were built by Hawker Siddeley in 1968 specifically for Tempo train service between Sarnia/Windsor and Toronto. The CN modified six RS18s, including #3154 in the picture, for use with these cars. However, check out my next post.
