Remarks & Notes
In the coming weeks, the "Giruno" high-speed train (StadlerRail designation SMILE) will have to undergo numerous tests in order to gain approval on the Italian network of Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). For this purpose the train RABe 501 # 004 was provided with a special paint scheme (foils). One head shows the colours of the Italian tricolour, the other the white Swiss cross on red. The intermediate cars advertise the future fast connection between Zurich and Milano Centrale. The train is glued with point symmetry on the other side, i.e. the head in front here shows the Italian colors on the other side. The RABe 501 # 004 is on the way from Rorschach via the Gotthard Base Tunnel to Bellinzona, then to Italy, running on the line bypassing Biasca in the Ticino.
