| Railcars ABe 4/4 # 56 and # 55 of the RhB are pulling regional train 1636 from Tirano to St.Moritz along the mirror-smooth Lago di Poschiavo between Miralago and Le Prese. The motor vessel "Sassalbo" is on a morning cruise. This 40 passenger ship has a interesting history. It was built in 1919 as steamship "Rütli II" for the Vierwalstättersee by Escher Wyss/Zürich, but rebuilt with a gasolin motor in 1921 already. About 1962 the ship was completely rebuilt for excursion service. From 2009 it was named "Jurablick" and circulated on the Aare river in the Solothurn region. From 2016 it is the "MS Sassalbo" on the Lago di Poschiavo, operated by association Amici del Lago and based at Le Prese. |
