Remarks & Notes
On the eve of Amtrak, the Gulf, Mobile & Ohio operated three passenger trains each way between Chicago and St. Louis. GM&O #3, the southbound Abraham Lincoln with a 5:10 PM departure from Chicago, approached waiting passengers at Joliet Union Station. A set of the GM&O's signature heavyweight equipment trailed an E7/F7 duo.
