Remarks & Notes |
My first encounter with UK preserved railways was the relatively modest 5 mile long Bo’ness and Kinneil Rwy just outside of Edinburgh Scotland. The UK preserved lines certainly don't fail to impress with incredible arrays of not just steam locomotives but all the supporting structures and pristine stations. Here the functioning signal tower controls the turnouts and semaphores. The power for the day was a J94 class from the Comrie Colliery. This "Austerity tank" class was built from 1943-1964 and numbered 485 strong! |
