Remarks & Notes |
DB class 012 oil-fired Pacific No 012 063-4 waits to leave Nordeich-Mole with the 11.07 D-Zug (express train) to Köln. Originally streamlined, this three-cylinder engine was No 01 1063 until 1968 when the coal fired engines became 011 and oil-fired 012 in computer numbering scheme. It was built by Berliner Maschinenbau AG and entered service in February 1940. The streamlining was removed in 1949, equipped to burn oil in 1958 and finally taken out of service in June 1975. But that was not the end and since 1977 has been displayed in the city of Braunschweig. |
