| With 786 SD70MAC's purchase in the 90's for BN and then BNSF, these beast were the mainstay power for coal trains on the BNSF system for many years. When traffic levels tanked alot of these motors were put into storage and haven';t seen service for a few years. BNSF has recently brought a bunch of them out of storage with the booming railroad traffic in early 2018. MAC's are back helping out on coal trains as they were originally built to do 25 years ago. Here one shoves on the back of this CBTMCNM near CTC Maxon, east of Albia, on the Ottumwa Sub. |
