New Haven RS-3 558 rests at Waterbury, CT, in the company of an Alco switcher as it awaits its next assignment. RS-3s dominated both road freight and local jobs out of Waterbury in the 1960s. The oil-sump look of the storage tracks was not uncommon at diesel service areas in those pre-EPA days!
