A clean BNSF SD70ACE leads a heavy westbound coal train up the 2.2% grade of Mullan Pass. Greenhorn Gulch was part of the gold rush that built Montana. It is said that a large gold nugget was found by a railroad builder drilling pilings for the original trestle, the worker then in good faith gave the nugget to the land owner.....One of the derilect relics of that long ago time is in the photo just above the first coal car on the mountainside. Perhaps that is the cabin owned by that very same landowner.....
