| Sometimes you don't want a caboose. The 315 had to take a cut of cars up the hill to Cumbres, but the four percent to too much for all the cars and a caboose, so the caboose was left behind. This was for a photo freight the next day, but this kind local accommodation to operating needs happened frequently in the old days to get the work done. In this case it was a heck of a lot easier than making two trips up the hill. |
