Milwaukee 409, an FM H-16-44, is sitting behind the roundhouse at Bensenville in September 1972, two months before it was officially retired. Unofficially it would appear it is being used to supply parts to keep other remaining FMs alive. Some would last until 1976. This one was traded to EMD on an SD40-2 order.
