Remarks & Notes
Despite the dominance of Penn Central black in Conrail’s early roster, there were some very colorful moments to be had. Here at Bison Yard in Buffalo, five paint schemes on locomotives from three builders are visible. Joining an ex-PC U25C that has recently been given a Conrail blue facelift are a leased Bangor & Aroostook GP38, a patched ex-Erie Lackawanna C424, and a patched ex-PC SD45. On the adjacent tracks are a patched ex-Reading GP35 and a patched ex-PC U30B.
