After leading a northboumd less than 24 hours prior thru the area, NS 1069 leads 15T south by Boyce, VA with the rising waning Moon above. 1069 is one of 20 locomotives Norfolk Southern painted in 2012 to honor it's history and prior roads. The "Bumblebee" showcases a paint scheme of the Virginian Railway which operated from the coal fields of West Virginia to the Tidewater of Virginia before merging with the Norfolk and Western.
From a "hint" of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ attitude, to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" wearing Yellow & Black! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
An ongoing/growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome, but seldom seen beauty of railroads because most of us don't go out after sundown or before sunrise. From dusk to dawn, lights are on! (And I continue to find new "Lights In The Night"!)
