| Waiting on the Chief……silhouetted against the timeless light of the moon a pair of Union Switch & Signal intermediate semaphores stand guard over BNSF's Raton Subdivision in northern New Mexico. The last of their breed to serve a class one railroad in the United States the semaphores of New Mexico, nearly a century old, continue to protect movements over 'the route of the Chiefs'. |
