Remarks & Notes |
Surrounded by emerald green hills brought to life by Winter rains a monster Roseville to West Colton manifest crawls its way up the western slope of southern California's Tehachapi Pass. Highlighting the many curves and contours of the famous mountain railroad the train's head end is working up the bottom leg of the Keene horseshoe curve, trading distance for elevation the tracks make a '180' (to the right, just out of view) as they swing back to the south on the approach to Woodford. Just below the three lead motors is the beautiful mission style main compound to the Cesar Chavez Visitor Center. In the distance the train's three cut in 'swing' helpers (DPUs) can be seen aiding in lifting the lumber laden manifest up the mountain. |
