Remarks & Notes
Oelwein was a major locomotive over hall and rebuild center for CNW after the 1968 merger with Chicago Great Western. It was also a place where locos would end their career. Fortunately for CNW 4405 a three year old GP15-1 at the time, its life was not over. It obviously suffered an engine room fire, but was rebuilt and continues service as Union Pacific UPY 550.
