Remarks & Notes

The "Elephant" C 5/6 # 2978, built by SLM Winterthur in 1917, on the turntable in Erstfeld. The former Gotthard freight train locomotive came from Bellinzona this day (towed by a Re 4/4 II, together with A 3/5 # 705) and will be exhibited in Erstfeld during the next weekend on the occasion of the Gotthard Base Tunnel opening event.
