The 1979 Pacific Railroad Society "Mountain Outin" passenger special, with Amtrak SDP40F AMTK 518 and AMTK 517, is rolling westbound towards Bakersfield through Cable. I am taking this photo from the open baggage compartment door next to the vestibule. I was surprised the conductor never told us to close the baggage doors, and I never complained about it. A great way to view Tehachapi Pass freight train action and the scenery.
