Remarks & Notes
A somber day as crew members affix a large American flag to 4211 prior to departing with the last LTV Steel Mining Company ore train to Taconite Harbor. The former Erie Mining property closed in 2001 and the railroad was sold to Cliffs Erie. It remains dormant today aside from the recent storage of covered hoppers used in frac sand hauling. F9A 4211 has been preserved in operating condition at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum in Duluth.

The best that the Streamlined Era had to offer, brought together in one handy album. Includes EMD, Alco, Baldwin, F-M, and GE - plus a few surprises.
