The Carolinian passes through the National Mall where Washington Channel meets the Tidal Basin in the spring of 2013. The short lived, but highly sought after Cherry Blossoms were in bloom and just past peak. Construction was beginning on the Washington Monument as evidenced by the scaffolding going up.
