| Remarks & Notes  |
| The Luscar industrial spur and load out serves Teck's Cardinal River Coal Mine near Cadomin, AB. The mine extracts high quality coking-coal for the steel industry world wide. The Canadian National loads 150 car trains here in 3 sections due to the severe grades of the spur; up to 3% and the grades on the Mountain Park Subdivision. This photo sees a loaded train beginning the drop down the 2.7% towards Cadomin, AB on a stormy afternoon. Jasper National Park looms in the background. This location is the highest point on the Canadian National Railroad. |
