Remarks & Notes
Union Pacific GP40P-2 No. 1373 rests among the spectacular Book Cliffs at Helper on May 29, 2015. It is from a class of three production units built by EMD for the Southern Pacific in 1974. These 3000 horsepower geeps labored in commuter rail service along the peninsula between San Francisco and San Jose. The steam generator was yanked out decades ago, but it continues to serve in freight service.
