The last PCC streetcar rolled out of the St. Louis Car Company plant in 1951, so San Francisco Municipal Railway PCC 1165 was built sometime before that. By the time car 1165 was photographed on September 2nd, 1978, the paint scheme it wore was obsolete and the logo on its side showed the effects of years of weather as 1165 plied the streets of the "City by the Bay."
