| Conrail ME-2 shoves east on track 1 toward Metuchen Yard and will soon be in the clear at Lincoln interlocking. The consist includes cars from both the National Can and General Tire leads as well as the usual caboose on the east end. This former Reading caboose is usually assigned to ME-2, as it allows the crew to make a quick reverse move at County interlocking without having to run the engine around the train. It is the height of rush hour, and moments before this photo was taken ME-2 met two westbound passenger trains just west of the station. |
